  • Worst Car I Ever Owned In 48 Years Of Driving - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring
    By -

I hated this car from day 1. I have had it since new and only has 46,500 miles on it. It pulled to the right. After bringing it back to the dealer 4 times, they kept telling me they aligned it. 7 years later, it still pulls to the right. After driving for more than a 1/2 hr, you feel like you are fighting to keep it on the road and your fingers get numb. Uncomfortable front seats. Horrible suspension and gas mileage is only 27 mpg. Poor in the snow. Electrical system issues with the back up lights (I hit it to come back on) and brake light issues. The moon roof does not work (after 4 years). Extremely uncomfortable ride.

  • Best car for family with baby - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring
    By -

I bought this car about two months ago, 2300 miles now. Handling and breaking are great even on the wet or icy road. Acceleration also great. Comfortable back seats. I think this car is the most cost efficient car for the family with babies. MPG was 27.4- 28.4 MPG for daily use combined city and highway. 3 months free XM was great but you need to pay after 3 months, about $15/month. Sound system also great. Quiet riding on highway even over 65 MPH.

  • Surprised by how much I like it. - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

We bought this car during Cash for Clunkers, and my goal was to buy the least expensive car that would meet our immediate needs. This car fit that bill. I am really surprised at how much I like it--the hatchback makes a huge difference for getting things (strollers) in/out. We bought the SE b/c of the bigger tires to make the ride a bit more smooth and b/c the moon roof made things feel cramped. Great vehicle for hauling kids and their gear. A bit loud, but for this price what do you expect?

  • Makes me car sick - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

I drove a 2000 Elantra wagon for the last 10yrs. I loved it so I purchased a 2010 touring. This time I got 5sp Manual GSL to save $1200 on purchase price and to get better gas mileage and performace. Paid $15000 vs $11700 ten yrs earlier. I since added Rosta after market cruise $400 and trailer hitch $100. Heated seats cost $250 each aftermarket. Whats better with my new car. Faster, Handeling, brakes, radio, headroom, gas mileage, power door locks on key fob, storage areas. Whats worse, stiff ride, jerkiness of manual shifting vs automatic, tires, no lumbar support. Both cars dent too easily. I love the rear loading area. I call it my covered pickup truck. Getting use to firm ride. Fun to drive

  • Good Value - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

Bought this car in Jan 2010 to replace a 1997 Escort Wagon. Overall, Im satisfied with the value ($16k). There were a few things that took a little getting used to vs the Escort. For me, the over the left shoulder blind spot of the frame behind the driver windows is in a really bad spot. In moderate traffic I have to bob my head and look several times before I change lanes left. I highway drive usually at off hours, so I probably average 70 mph. I figure Im getting about 25 mpg vs around 30 for the Escort, but the Hyundai is heavier. The window ledge is higher, for arm hanging purposes. Steering is tight, the cars gonna go right where youre looking, so keep your eyes on the road.

  • Based on several test drives - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

The model I am waiting for is the ES manual with the beige interior. That is why I am still waiting. Nice interior, looks pretty nice on the outside, lots of punch with a 5 speed, not so much with the auto. It really stands out in the non hybrid hatch- back field.Big difference between the GLS and the SE,such as no cruise control on a manual GLS,plus plastic hubcaps,Bleeech...My evaluation is based on the SE model.

  • If it were a woman...Id marry it!!! - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

Every morning I wake up, I still cant get over the fact I bought so much car for so little money. Its super comfortable and quiet on the road. The interior is truly top notch in terms of quality and lay out. The braking, steering, and acceleration are great. Im averaging 32mpg with 60% hwy and 40% very heavy city driving. I also test drove a Honda Fit which was a joke in comparison to this.

  • Diamond in the Rough - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

Wow! Look out Toyota and Honda. If you are considering a corolla or a civic I would recommend you stop by a Hyundai dealership and test drive the Elantra Touring. Excellent build, features and overall design. This vehicle is a european Hyundai with german design. Ride is excellent and the ESC, traction control, six airbags and 4 wheel anti-lock disc brakes are standard. Add the 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty and you can see why Hyundai recently outperformed Toyota in customer satisfation. This vehicle is well thought out. This is my first Hyundai and previously drove a Volvo S80. Volvo may want to look in there rearview mirror. Hyundai is right behind them.

  • Nice Car, but Should Get Better Mileage - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring
    By -

Just bought this car in Nov. 2009, and we have put a little over 500 miles on it. Spent 2 months car-shopping at the worst possible time: right after Cash-For-Clunkers, when the dealership lots are empty! We were attracted to the wagon-style, which is a style that is NOT popular in America. The other 2 cars we were considering was the VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI and the Honda Fit. Still in its break-in period, so dont really know about its mileage yet, but its EPA is 23 city, 30 highway (which should be better). Handling is great - we dont mind that it has a somewhat stiff ride. The SE has a lot of features that others in its class leave out: XM radio, heated seats & outside mirrors, etc.

  • I love this car! - 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring

I have had this car (in chili pepper red!) for only 2 weeks, but Im in love. It has many of the features you would find in pricier cars, so its a great value. It handles great and its a comfortable ride. I previously owned a 2002 Elantra GT and in the nearly 8 years I owned it, I had very little mechanical trouble. It was a nice dependable car, so I am pretty confident in Hyundais reliability.
